Do you think you will be using most of these or you simply wanted to get a good head start? I have been debating whether I should buy the biggest set or go for one I most likely won't outperform for years.
take care

You just don't need that many picks...
I don't know why Southord markets thier products like that, from what I understand, they started out as a marketing experement try to appeal to the acolytes of Luke and Bo Duke...
If you look at the better set manufactureres (Falle Safe, Peterson, HPC, etc) they sell a few rakes and a wide variety of hooks and reachers. You will also need several sizes of tension wrenches
Finally, remember that it is not the tools, it is mostly the well honed skills of the operator that open the lock...

I wood disaggree.... buy as many picks possible . i ahve noticed that every lock only open with different picks.... I have about a 46pick set and i use them all. when picking try one pick, after 2mins grab another, keep going till the lock opens, thats the best way

I disagree, it just means you can't open those locks with the tools that have failed you. Its called patience and you'll get it. I own 50 picks, a pick gun, and a pocket pick set, all for my own convenience. I can pick a varity of locks with only 3-4 tools. Its not how much you have, its how you used them.

Think of picks as options.... the more picks the more options

My main complaint against Southord is their claim of 'no duplicates' in a set like this. The truth is their are tons of duplicate pick 'heads', it is only the handles that vary. This set does have the regular and Euro picks AND you do have a duplicate non-handled pick incase a handle one breaks, so still pretty nice (just not very truthful advertising).

I disagree with you silly boy. The more picks you have the more chance you have of getting lucky and according to your two minute method, the more time you probably waste. If you switch your pick every two minutes on every lock you come up to then picks aren't what you need. Its patience.
the main problem being: what if it will only take you 5 minutes with one pick instead of 2 minutes with 10.
I am by no means claiming to be a pro, but you don't need nearly as many options if your skill is up to par.

No, no sub, I'd made a reply quoting your first sentence "I disagree with you silly boy", then an agreement with your main text about huge pick sets...
I re-read and everything looked good, so previewed it. Got a "page not found" error, so just submitted anyway. Refreshed the page and the reply just contained your quoted post in full...strange.
I'm not going to write it out again, as I can't be bothered.
I've just previewed again and the post seems ok...let's see what happens when submitted...
