help with bump key!?!??

Postby Wi11 » 6 Jul 2007 19:36

I made this bump key and tried it on 4 different doors. the key fit in all of the doors. i took it out one notch but when i bumped it it wouldn't open. can someone help? Did i build the key wrong or does it look OK? This is my first bump key i have made, and my first time trying to bump any locks so that could be the problem. Any thoughts would help. Thanks.

well first off you shouldn't be bumping locks on doors. thats worse than picking them. if the shoulder shatters you will probably mess up the lock.

The key looks like its spaced well but i don't know about depths on schlarge. assuming thats what it is. kinda looks like one. If anything maybe not deep enough.

If you are using the pull out method u might have a low pin being pushed up as the key enters.

But really. Don't bump locks u depend on. we don't say it for fun. you really can damage locks. I have done it my self in the past even with locks in my hand.

i know not to use locks i depend on. im using dead bolt lock i have bought. i said doors on my first comment sorry i didn't mean it i was just trying to get the point across. I actually had to learn not to use locks i depend on the hard way, but that's a different story. lol anyways thanks for the feedback i will try yo make the depths deeper thanks again!

Find the root depths and get a caliper.
