Thank you, I will be getting some of these.
I would definitely consider putting these in the back of the cylinder. Those springs look tough, I bet they would wear down a key faster.
On another note, from the shape of the top pin it looks like it might be designed to catch like a typical security pin if there is lots of tension on the plug. Also I wonder if these would also affect somebody's ability to impression a key, maybe those top pins would give the false impression?

I love these little guys, they make picking so hard. The springs are very tough and wear out your hand when picking more than one of them in a lock. They are really good for pick resistance. For impressioning, I have been able to impression with two of them in the lock without any problem. I noticed last week that they will actually push the key out of the lock if you let the BH pin rest on a the front slope of the key, also they take a little more force to turn the plug (seriously the springs are that strong.)

Also, the springs are so strong that when repinning, they will hold the plug follower in so that I can rotate the lock any direction I want and not have gravity cause the follower to fall out. That is just with one BH pin in, too :o !

I bet they lose popularity when the pins and keys start to wear prematurely and cause the locks to fail.
Excessive wear and peening the key under the strong springs could get expensive to keep repairing.
I could be wrong, I guess they could use harder brass alloys.
