Need help Bumping Brinks R80

Postby cgsjames » 29 Mar 2015 12:14

Hey, folks I've been working on this brinks for far too long and bumping is my last resort. I believe the brinks R70 uses M1 keyway is this also true for the R80 motel?
I've been working on this lock for many hours so ANY feedback is appreciated.
Also the only time I've seen this lock picked is on bills channel on YouTube.

Yea it is connected to a small plastic tote. I could cut the plastic off, but what would be the fun in that?

ok, I hope you dont mind me asking because it is the only lock you are working since making an account here, is it your lock and your tote? and what's in the tote? most folks into the hobby arent just after getting into a specific lock using no matter what clandestine methods.

I think an explanation would be fair, and I hope you agree.

Thank you

I can see how you would think I'm trying too bypass a lock for nefarious proposes, but this is simply not the case. When I was younger I use to be in the boy scouts and we would often travel to different places and set up camp. One day our troop was invited to go to a National Jamboree, with a different troop, so we all had to go out and get totes for the trip. Long story short, about a year ago my step brother passed away and now I can't get into the tote.

I also used to be fascinated with lock picking when I was younger so I figured why the hell not. So I made a post on here a few months ago asking how I could pick it because I haven't had much luck with it. Eventually I just threw it up in my addict and forgot about it.

It's ok if you don't believe me...

I spelled attic wrong. Dam auto correct. I'm not shure what's in the tote thou. Most likely its just a few boy scout badges and maybe even the fountain of youth.

It doesn't matter if I do or don't believe you, but just like the Boy Scouts (probably have one) we in this hobby and on this forum have an honor code here as well and anyone on the internet can say anything they want and its hard to verify stuff so the best we can do is ask and hope people are honest about their intentions. I'd hate to help someone get into their fathers tote that the gun is inside, or grandma's oxycontin medicine, or mom's medicinal marijuana. That's where I'm coming from, just letting you know.

If it is not an emergency, then keep practicing with picks, bumping isnt easy either you have to learn how to do it, it takes practice. give it another couple weeks, maybe pick something else easier so at least you know the basics and know you can open something and then come back to this lock. when all else fails, cut the box open if you really need to get into it for whatever is inside that is meaningful to you.

good luck,

I'll keep trying to pick this bad boy but I was just curious If it uses an M1 key way. Trying to look it up but nothing is showing up.
