iseo r6 oval cylinder

Postby andyb » 29 Apr 2014 11:46

Hi.

I'm looking for some advice on iseo r6 oval cylinder

I want to replace the ones on my work van as one of them has broken but I'm finding it hard to find the correct type

I know that they as stated above are iseo r6 oval cylinders 35x35 but here's the thing of all the cylinders I've seen the key has to be rotated 360 degrees to be able to remove the key from the barrel but the ones I have fitted at the moment only turn a quarter of the way and then the key can be removed. This is because the casings in which the cylinder sits does not allow the cam to turn a whole revolution only one quarter...

If anyone can help me please

Andy

Hi Andy, 35x35 sounds strange to me for a van... It's the perfect size for a house door. Got a picture of said lock?
Cheers :)

I don't have a picture of the exact lock but its of the same style as this

As you can see the cylinder is used as the actual "bolt" to hold the two halves of the shell together....

Thanks

No iseo R6 oval will allow key removal at more than one position, it would require an additional set of springs and pins at each position to allow key removal, and there isn't room in an oval cylinder. Can you post a photo of your cylinder, rather than one like it?

So I think he is trying to source some cylinders that are quarter turn rather than full turn.

Thats kind of what I was saying - oval cylinders are 360 degree turn only, the key is only removeable in one position.
