Found the proper OEM key blanks for the '60s Corbin MR that picked up in order to gut, clean and key (as opposed to the early 1900's one from my previous post). Figured it'd be clear sailing from there; I know how these work, should be a breeze..,   ...what? This is everything that came out of this lock. Key pins for the change key shearline were totally normal; measured out at 868885. Once I went to measure the master pins...well, there weren't any. Weird; moving on. Top pins were .418" monstrosities that resembled elongated ASSA Christmas Tree pins; sixth top pin was absent. Springs were only present in the first three chambers, which effectively explains the strange feedback I was getting while picking this lock. I'll be able to pin this up without too much trouble, but I'm curious. I've never seen these top pins before; anyone familiar with them?

Have not seen those driver pins before. Wonder if they are either:
A. Factory, for those who need the core to fit hardware that is already installed, but don't want it master keyed
or B. Custom made, also for someone who does not want the lock master keyed.
Either way, thank you for sharing the pics. Look forward to seeing the responses of those who are more experienced and knowledgeable than myself on these locks.

That's about all I could come up with, these pins being used to convert an otherwise master keyed lock into an SKD. Though that doesn't explain the missing driver and three missing springs...that looks to be pure sloppiness on the part of the locksmith (or random maintenance guy, whatever the case may be).

I have some super long top pins like that. Corbin loved to use that kind of stuff.

I never worked on those cylinders before about a year ago. Around here there is still 1 apartment building ( run down slum in my opinion) that still uses those lock cylinders. Definitely learned some new things....
