What kind of lock is that?

Postby Namex » 7 May 2017 11:20

Hello,
I have this old bike in abasement, it's getting rusty and it's quite nice bike.
But someone put a lock on its back tire, and left this bike for a year now.

Any ideas how to pick it? It has written Tchibo certified merchandise on a side.
Got 7 pins and middle one looks broken.

It looks like someone tried to drill it.

There are certain questions we won't help with, getting locks off a bike in some basement without proof of ownership is gonna be one of those questions.

Please call a locksmith shop, they will charge you $75+ to come out and open it, tell them you have a 7 pin ACE style lock that needs to be picked. Or if you really are the bike owner or the manager of the apartment building and the bike was abandoned, then have your maintenance folks cut it off with bolt cutters or a cutoff wheel.

Or buy a tubular pick for $75 bucks and learn it yourself on youtube.

Good luck

The middle one is the index; I think that's the proper term for it. Or the key slot. Hell, I don't know.

It's a 7 pin center tubular lock if you're going to learn how to pick it. If you're able to transport it, however, I would take it to a locksmith and have them open it. It'll cost you far less than a tubular pick.
