New Euro Lock Tk100 faulty?

Postby Keredion » 8 Aug 2020 15:21

Hi guys!
I'm in need of a bit of advice, new lock cylinder seems to be not working properly, both in the door and by itself. Am I missing something?

We got a new euro lock Tesa TK100 cylinder (https://www.tesa.es/en/site/tesa/produc ... -cylinder/) and it seems to not be working properly. Replacing and installing it wasn't a problem (size is correct, etc), but we noticed it was really hard to open/close the door. Even sometimes we wouldn't be able to open at all, the key wouldn't keep going. Took it out and tried it out by itself and it seems there's a tiny "glitch" when the latch meets the lower end. Here's a video I uploaded showing the hardness of it, first in door and later by itself:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y_AClXw ... e=youtu.be

I'm trying to figure out if the cylinder is faulty or I'm doing something wrong? (I didn't put lubricant as it's new and thought wouldn't need it).
Thanks in advance!

I'm no expert but it looks like you are not making a mistake and the lock has an issue with the internals. You might want to try warranty or having the issue resolved by a specialist. Don't install it before the issue is resolved.
