Accidentally locked an old trunk (important things inside!)

I locked this accidentally and haven't got a key or any hope of finding one! Can anyone advise how to pick it?

sounds like a job for a flat screwdriver, or you can try to pull those 4 rivets out with some pliers.

You can't 'accidentally' lock this, you need the key to actually lock it--have you tried moving the button?

It looks like this is not the first time its happened to this trunk (you can see the old rivet holes) I would just pry the lock off and then just replace it.

These are normally 1 or 2 levers. If in working order, and not full of fluff etc., it should need the key to lock, otherwise pressing the button (that one does not look like one that slides) should release it.
As mentioned, releasing the rivets is another method. Replacing this with a similar lock might now be difficult; the OP might prefer to keep the lock and put it into working order.

Copper rivets should be easy to find and replace. Drill out the two rivets on the top part. If a key is found everything will still work.
