Yale provided masterkeyed locks in the late 1800's. Yale developed the multiplex masterkeying system (GA etc keyways) in the 1890's the first installation being the American Surety Building in New York (built 1894 to 1896). Source - newsgroup posting from Billy Edwards years ago. Multiplex materkeying is sometimes called 'Surety system' (after that building) which is sometimes corrupted to 'security system. The GA etc keyways pre-date Yale's Paracentric keyway.
