Removing rose from lockset

Postby NC2 » 26 Feb 2022 10:19

This is probably a simple question, but I cannot seem to remove a rose/trim from an unbranded (possible Schlage) lock.
It does not have a slot to put a screwdriver in to pop it off, it only has a small hole on the side of the rose.

Using the URL above displays this:

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Easy problem - easy answer. That lock was put on with a large spanner wrench that came with the lockset. The spanner is just a large "C" shaped curve, with handle, and with a 90 degree tab sticking inward that fits into the hole. Then you just unscrew the trim.
Nothing is foolproof to a talented fool. Wisdom is not just in determining how to do something, but also includes determining whether it should be done at all.

That was it! Thank you Raymond
