Seemingly Pinless lock

When I tried picking it i couldn't seem to find any pins. And when I tried tensioning the lock it would turn the keyhole 90 degrees. This however didn't effect the inside. Just the keyhole. Does anyone know how this thing works?

Sounds like a warded lock with a key made to look like a pin tumbler key. If it isn't a warded mechanism, then perhaps it has a split plug, but my money is on warded.

Clicking thru on the link I learn two things. The lock is no longer available, also, "The internal brass 4 pin tumbler" strongly suggests this is a pin tumbler lock.
