Help opening Hook Lock

Postby Braindrain2019 » 6 Dec 2022 12:39

Hello,

The keys to my hook lock were thrown out of the car and lost in a car accident and I didn’t have a copy. what’s the best method to pick this lock so I can replace it? (it's a hook Lock) or do I need to call a locksmith? I live in La and heard bad stories about locksmiths and pricing. Thanks!

Stop by a local locksmith shop, that's the best way of getting a real authentic locksmith who is not a scammer pretending to be a locksmith.

We can't in good faith help you pick a lock based on a close up photo of a locked gate, and a story about keys being thrown out of a car or getting lost during an accident.. sorry, something feels off to me and I've been doing this for a while.

I understand, I just didn’t want to pay $200-$300 to unlock and replace my carport lock. I used to unlock small locks as a hobby and thought I could do it easy and fast.
My girlfriend was using my carport while I was outta town, then she was involved in a major accident and airlifted to the hospital. When they went to check her car most things were missing or destroyed, including all her keys.
