Unknown Combination Lock

Postby 108CAM » 16 Feb 2023 23:17

I have this combination lock which I don't know much about. The housing is pretty much identical in size to a deadbolt but it has a 3 disc combination lock inside. The dial is numbered from 0-99 and looks like something off an old safe because of its size.

One thing that's been made easy for me is figuring out the combination. What I can't work out is which way to turn the dial for each rotation.
If anyone knows more about this lock, please let me know!

Many Very Good Safe Techs here, til one answers, last number turns to the Right, That Nose when you dial the correct combo.will slip into that closest wheel, grabbing on and retracting Bolt.
If you dial so the Fence(Bar that goes down into the gates),

It has a Relocker that springs out when cover is removed. After dialing correct combo, and it locks up, you need to push in while turning to the right to retract the Bolt.
Looks like a Sargeant and Greenleaf 2730, or very Simular. Search on this Site, That Make and Model, You will see many good videos. Hope this helps til More Qualified Reply.
Good Luck, Ga Day Mate

After looking at Picture Better, Editing my Post.
Haven't seen a shaft like that, looks cut toff.
Have seen Mosler have Dial attached to the Cover.
Either way, go ahead and rotate wheels til fence falls in the gat, and the nose drops into place, push in Relocker Lever
Good Luck some More.

Thanks for the information, especially the model number. A quick search of the number brings up heaps of similar locks that work the same way.
I found out is that the lock is a Group 2 safe lock which would be mounted inside the door of the safe. The bolt on the lock interacts with the safe's locking mechanism and unlocks the handle when the correct combination is dialed.

Yes, and when dialed in and nose drops in, you push that lever in to retract the Bolt, lever is a Relocker and is used to keep from opening if the cover is removed
Good Luck

I think you might mean 6730, not 2730.
