I’m not sure if this is the right place to post this request. I inherited a Gougler padlock and would like to recover the combination. This lock has both a right stop and a left stop. The local locksmith was not very helpful. The hasp is stamped with 9244. If someone can offer help, I’d sure appreciate it. You can try Gordon's suggestion from a separate thread:

Hi, FranklyFlawless. Thank you for your reply. I tried Gordon’s suggestion, starting from both the right stop and the left stop. Unfortunately, it did not work for me, but I’m remaining hopeful a solution can be found!

Code 9244 SHOULD work out to:
L14-R5-L5-R4
Since your lock stops in either direction, turn right (clockwise) until it stops. Then turn left (counter/anti clockwise) for 14 CLICKS. Not numbers... clicks. Once you have felt the 14th click, start turning right for 5 clicks. Next, left 5 clicks, then finally, right for 4 clicks.
Unfortunately, the old code books do have errors in them from time to time.
Let us know if this works for you!

Hello, Gordon. Thank you for replying to my request. Unfortunately, the combination you suggested did not work on this Gougler lock. The GOOD news is that I discovered the combination, using your information as a launch point. This lock, with code #9244, opens when I begin at the right stop, then L14, R5, L4, R8. The look of surprise on my Dad’s face was priceless! Thank you for your help in getting us there. Regards, Greg
