Old EZ Set lock

Postby Camsantu » 25 Nov 2015 13:43

I am trying to replace an old EZ Set deadbolt, but I can't figure out how to get the latch assembly out after removing the knobs. There are no screws on the plate, and the bolt won't budge.

Hi, could you post a photo to http://imgur.com or to http://tinypic.com and the Copy/Paste the picture link here so we can take a look at the deadbolt holes and the deadbolt latch assemble on the edge of the door, thanks.

Is it a push-in bolt?

If it is a drive-in latch you can put a flat blade screw-driver through the large hole at the end of the latch&press it forward so it comes out of the door edge. You may need a chisel to mortise in the new latch, so it is flush with the rest of the door edge
