What hold a key in the ignition

Postby mikenflorida » 17 Sep 2023 6:24

I have to replace the lock cylinder on my 2006 Dodge truck. I have grown accustomed to being able to remove the key while it is running. I want to be able to do this on my new ignition. What holds the key in?

Sorry, but please see forum rule right above your post. We simply do not discuss vehicle door locks or ignitions on this forum. And removing your key while vehicle is running sounds like a strange thing to get accustomed to.

Funny what we get used to. But, I once had a Chevy pickup and an Olds 98 that I keyed alike. I also made the ignition key come out while running. I hoped that If my wife or I ever got carjacked the thief would turn it off somewhere visible and be stuck.
Nothing is foolproof to a talented fool. Wisdom is not just in determining how to do something, but also includes determining whether it should be done at all.
