I need a cover or a full size tracing of a cover showing locations of screw and change key holes for a Sargent & Greenleaf 6730. Got a free door from a demolition but the workers removed and threw away the lock cover. S&G doesn't sell a replacement cover nor will they send me the cover layout. I made a cover that fits perfectly except I need to know exactly where to cut the slot for the change key...and I need a change key as well. I realize my homemade cover will disable the internal re-locker but that's okay as this will be used for a home storm/safe room and I am disabling all re-lockers at the recommendation of S&G.

This is a real common combination lock that is used on vault & file room doors, gun safes, free standing safes, etc.

You could make a cover out of plexiglass, this way you can just see where to drill. I will upload a photo of a real cover in a few minutes.

You probably already know this, but print these out and scale them until my ruler's inch marks line up with your ruler.

I bet a local locksmith could provide you with what you need for cheap. The lock itself isn't very expensive though.

Thanks all for the help and the quick responses. As Cledry suggested, i contacted my local locksmith today and, surprisingly, he had a used cover that was perfect and cheap. I should have checked there before spending all the time making one from steel. But, it's always fun making something new. Now to track down the change key.

Squelch, thanks for the eBay link and the photos. I ordered the key on eBay for $8 with free shipping. Had I not found the back today, your photos would have been just what I needed to finish the back I had made.
