old safe put back to service in galle sri lanka

Today was an incredible day. I visited a local house museum that had many interesting things and noticed a safe locked by a padlock.
I offered my help in retrieving the combination and they agreed. There were six people looking at me, most of them were skeptical and one very curious. They opened the safe and the backplate for me and let me play with it a few minutes. I noticed all the wheels were set to the same number. It didn't took long to explain to two employees how to open it.
I made them open and close it a few times with my help and a few times on their own.
Then I locked the door and opened it again. Then it was their turn and both of them were able to open the safe a few times.

I felt like a hero and was very happy to help to put such a beautiful safe back to use.
The offered us a drink and I told them I love locks and collect them.
The owner was so kind to give me an old lock as a gift.

Fantastic that you could put your skills to use on the trip, Femurat! To them, you are a hero!

We will have to get you a cape with the LP101 logo and a line drawing of a combination safe lock dial embroidered on it.

Here are the pictures. As you can see the safe is quite big. The lock is 4 wheels and may be a LaGard.

Many days are passed, but I still feel excited when I think about this.

Well, actually before I left they asked me if I was able to work with keys. Unfortunately I'm not expert about safe keyed locks.
