KChina safe

Forgot how to dial the combination on that old safe? Think you got the right numbers but the handle is stuck? What safe should you buy? Ask your safe questions here!

KChina safe

Hello,
A friend has a KChina safe, no documentation. there appears to be no model number and i cannot find a website for the company. she has been using it for a few years and the battery suddenly shot down to almost nothing. Its so low that the LCD works but it doesnt take her code. Currently the safe is sitting in her fridge because her father told her to put it there. On the front there is a hex key that might hold the battery but we are hesitant to turn it in case the safe resets itself and we def cant get in. doe sanyone have any ideas on how to get this open. photos attached below

no offense to your friend's dad but the batteries in the fridge thing is one of those popular wives tales that refuses to go away, so you can take it out of the fridge. If that hex shaped hole is really for an allen wrench, then you can try to turn it, usually that hole is for an override key, some safes also allow the plugging in of an external battery via a port that looks like a headphone jack. Either way nothing to lose at this point, inserting things in that hole isnt going to lock your friend out any further.

I'm going to send you a private message with something to try check for messages on the left in the blue/white menu.

It is strange that people think that cold will help, as battery efficiency generally decreases with falling temperatures.

I've attended jobs where a cheap electronic safe was stored in a shed or vehicle with low temperatures. Often bringing the safe indoors and warming it gradually with a fan heater will coax just enough charge to open it one last time, especially if [bypass info redacted].

There's also a good chance that hex hole is actually an a hexagonal tubular lock for override as that is not that uncommon on cheapo Chinese consumer safes.

ok so,
the keyhole on the front bezel needs to be used WITH the password. after examining the case, there was a hole on the bottom on bezel that fit a stereo headphone plug. it is an aux power plug for a 12v connection. in the very bottom of this there was a screw. after removing that screw, the front bezel popped off and there was a second hex screw behind that. using 2 hex keys we were able to bypass the password and get it opened.

for the record, i hate chinese hardware. locks, safes, etc.

thank you for the help

Most of the cheap knockoff safes sold here retain the code even after the battery runs out. Or can unlocked with the backup key if every thing else fails.
