combination safe lock manipulation (old locked safe)

Forgot how to dial the combination on that old safe? Think you got the right numbers but the handle is stuck? What safe should you buy? Ask your safe questions here!

Got it open this morning. Had to try close combos and do wiggling but it finally went from 3 to about 11 and opened.

And of course you're all curious what was in there. Nothing hugely valuable, just old equipment manuals. But to Dad those were gold because he was a logger and did his own mechanic work on his equipment. I really miss him.

Thanks for all your help, I've learned a lot through this process.

Glad you got it open, and thank you for the follow up!

Been late following this thread, but was going to suggest wiggling the handle while turning the dial at hard stop in case the boltwork was binding the lock bolt.

Just when you finally think you have learned it all, that is when you learn that you don't know anything yet.
