recoding a Guardall BF400 Digital safe

Forgot how to dial the combination on that old safe? Think you got the right numbers but the handle is stuck? What safe should you buy? Ask your safe questions here!

Hi all,
long time since ive been around, i just recently bought a Guardall BF400 safe from a scrap yard. The safe is open i can close the door, and engage the mechanism to close it however I have absolutely no idea if I can recombo it so as to be able to lock and unlock it. or do i possibly have to replace the digital number pad, really appreciate any help you guys can give.
Ive wanted somewhere to lock away my pick collection for sometime along with some other valuables and would like to put the big girl back into commision.
Thanks
Gozzo

Could you show a photo of the keypad and can you remove inner door cover and show pic of lock body? That will help ID the model of the lock and if there are any factory resets available to change the combination. Are there batteries in it and have you tried any numbers such as 123456 or similar? Does it beep at all?

Thanks

Uses LG Basic II on current models. The safe is a pretty nice safe so even if you have to spend a few dollars for a new lock it would be worth it.

Older LG Basic models have a hack to reset. Newer locks can be reset but require a tool that costs more than the safe.

Default code is 123456

SMR code from factory is 555555

Cledry, do have a Lockmasters Black Box? I'd love to have one, but can't justify the expense. Same with an ITL 2000.

No not yet I don't. I can't help thinking the whole thing costs $20 to make.

Sorry for the tardy reply. I contacted Guardall and they said it's impossible to recode, ( wish I had a dollar for every lock one of us can't pick that we have )
Seeing as how I only wanted to store tools I don't want my adult kids messing with I welded a steel hasp on it and put a massive Lockwood padlock on it.
But thanks for the suggestions guys. If it wasn't for this forum I would still be trying to figure out which end of the pick to use lol.

So long as they're 3801, 3802, or 33E firmware, you can reset them with a paperclip. Now if only there were instructions to do that...

The one I just did had very small spots on the circuit board than most others I have done. I use a needle point tweezer to do them.
