Information on this vault door?

Forgot how to dial the combination on that old safe? Think you got the right numbers but the handle is stuck? What safe should you buy? Ask your safe questions here!

Information on this vault door?

Postby gundy » 13 Nov 2019 10:47

Hi, I own an old bank building and part of the space will be a vacation rental. This is a big mountain biking town and the vault will be used to store the renters bikes in. If I could get some possible history of a door like this I would like to provide the renters with a little bit about the door/vault

Does anyone know the general age of a door like this? The vault was possible built in the 30's the building also has the original vault from 1910.

Any unique features? Not sure if there is anything of interest, but if something jumps out at one of you it might be fun for[image][image][/image][/image] people to feel apart of the history.

I'll see if I can get these pics downloaded correctly

Reason: I fixed the image link for you, a link to imgur is just a link to website, the [image] command only shows a picture if you link to a picture file somewhere such as this: https://i.imgur.com/rJtGZQS.jpg

The only thing that jumps out to me is that they actually put "Left" and "Right" on the dial, in case you're not sure. :D

Can't tell you anything else about it, sorry, but it's a beautiful safe. Glad that it's being put to use.

Nice door. I think the lock is their own, 4 wheels, similar to, but not a Diebold/Eagle 161. Possibly a Peerless?? OR a few others. The left/right on the dial is to distinguish the civilian vs military directions. (any military guys know this meaning).
