Forgot how to dial the combination on that old safe? Think you got the right numbers but the handle is stuck? What safe should you buy? Ask your safe questions here!

Since this is a borderline bypass devise, the specific info should not be put on the open forum. But if you get the info to myself, Squelchtone or Femurat, we can make a post (crediting you of course) in the advanced forums. If you do not want it posted there, then perhaps you would be kind enough to at least email or PM me with the info so I can attempt making one. If not, I understand. Gordon
GWiens2001, I'd love to share. I"ll even send the code. It will take me a couple days to put it all together. And I'd be happy to help anyone that wants to copy it. But they would have to go through the admins to keep with the advance section requirements...

It makes sense, thank you for the explanation. I second Gordon desire to post your auto dialer in the advanced area of the forum, if you are happy with that. Cheers

And please realize that I'm running it very slowly. 15 secs to dial and check for gate drop. IF I machined the system out of aluminum with more precise tolerances, I could speed up to 5 sec dialing and check. That would open it within a week. I'm pleased that its still running strong. I"ll get a youtube posting when i have some bandwidth...

SUCCESS!!!!I had to run the robot dialer twice. The first time it completed all possible combination and never indicated an unlock. I realized that with the damage to the dial, maybe the dial was still able to be rotated even if the gate had dropped. So I integrated an amplified through-wall microphone to detect the sound of the gate dropping. On the second run, it detected the gate drop by audio and sent the alert. I actually was able to rotate the dial 4 times before it the torque increased enough to be noticeable.. Then the dial became almost impossible to turn. Had to use a wrench to turn the dial and the locking mech opened up. Below is the picture of the retaining pin at the drive cam. You can see it has been sheared off. I'm working on repairing the dialing mech.

Congratulations! I's nice to know the end of the story. Many people forget or are too lazy to post it once they no longer need advice. Thank you for letting us know. Cheers
