Diebold antique floor safe double door

Forgot how to dial the combination on that old safe? Think you got the right numbers but the handle is stuck? What safe should you buy? Ask your safe questions here!

Diebold antique floor safe double door

Postby Billyo25 » 1 Feb 2023 22:33

Good Evening and thanks in advace for any help that you can give me...
I have a Diebold double door floor safe with wheels.... I do have the combination and the safe worked fine. That is until it fell over while moving it. Good news is that it only hurt my concrete driveway and not the safe. Well almost. Turns out that the left door (not the dial door) will not open now. The action works but I believe that only the top (bolt)? Moves whith the t-handle and that the bottom one is no longer attached or will not receed into the door. So its stuck closed. Is there any way that the handle will come off and i can attempt to pull up on the lever action to move the bolt into the door.uless someone has some better advice? Im kind of in a jam pun intended. Also would anyone have a serial number decoder to see when this baby was made? Thanks to all.

Thank you for your detailed post but I would say a picture is worth a 1000 words.

Please share photos of your safe as we can't tell from description alone if you have a Diebold from 1880 or one from 1980 and their construction and mechanisms would vary over the years.

Instructions for sharing a photo are on your left in the menu tree.

Thank you,
Squelchtone
