During a remodel of one of our old admin offices, this Mosler safe was discovered under the floor tiles. The building is from the early 1950's and the concrete around the safe indicates it was installed at the time of the original slab.

We have tried a few common combinations used in the District along with the various Mosler Factory combos. We would hate to destroy it getting it open so any insights would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Dan

That's a cool find, thanks for sharing with us.

Unlike modern big box store fire boxes made by companies like Sentry, the burglar proof safe you have there is a real legit safe and there is no trick we can teach you to get into it easily. Learning safe manipulation is a fun hobby, but it may take you months to years to get good enough to crack the safe combination. Calling a safe technician over will cost you $500-$750 to either drill it and scope it and then repair it to make it secure again, or if you are lucky the safe tech will be able to use the skill of manipulation to spin the dial for a few hours and open it without having to drill it.

If you are near a big city, and can find a safe technician, or locksmith shop with a good reputation for safe work, you may save money by bringing it to them so they can work on it in their spare time, or they can pop an auto dialer on the safe and let it dial all possible combinations for a few days until it find the one that opens the safe.

Best of luck!
