How to Instruction labels for your Dial Combo safe -

Hi,

I just wanted to pass it on and place it here in case anyone finds these safe labels helpful in creating their own to print and clear box tape to the front or side or inside of their mechanical safe.

I spent some time making these labels to place on the front of our mechanical spin Dial 3 number Amsec safe.
Because the staff and even the boss, found it very difficult to open the safe and this caused a real situation. At one point, everyone thought the safe was broke and no one could get into it for a week!

No one had read the owner's manual and the manual was poorly written. I had to do some online research to bring all the needed info into place and then condense it down into these labels to make opening and closing the safe a simple and easy no brainer as possible. I'm very good at this condensing labeling without deleting any of the pertinent info.

Take care:

=
SAFE DOOR LABELS:

Unlock Turn Seq.:
LEFT-4
RIGHT-3
LEFT-2
RIGHT-1

UNLOCK:
-1st Secret #: Turn Dial LEFT (anti-clockwise):
Stop on its 4th* passing.
-2nd secret #: Dial RIGHT (clockwise):
Stop on its 3rd passing.
-3rd Secret #: Dial LEFT (anti-clockwise):
Stop on its 2nd passing.
-Dial RIGHT (clockwise):
To a hard, Lock Retracted, Stop (#86).
-Turn Handle Right, to Open Door-Dead Bolts.

Notes:
*When Starting-the 1st #, More passes are allowable. Less passes
are allowable, IF the Dial was turned Left, enough, when previously locked.
Precisely align the # under the 12 o’clock “Opening Index” mark.
The 11 o’clock mark to the left is the “Changing Index”, Only for combo changes.
Don’t dial past a #, slow down, “Sneak Up” on it.
You Must Start Unlock Directions All Over Again IF:
1. When dialing the 2nd or 3rd Secret numbers, you pass where you should stop.
2. You turn the dial in the wrong direction/try to “back up” to a missed/passed #.

LOCK:
1. Close Door.
2. Turn Dial to the Left:
At Least 4 Full Revolutions.

OTHER IDENTIFYING LABELS:

Turn Dial ___ ___ Times to number ___

This is a good idea.

Btw. a friend has made "coins" with his business data as a business card. They are the size of a 1 Euro coin, so they can be used for shopping trolleys which require here a coin so that people return them to the cart depot.

No, I quoted coins, because people are usually referring to every disk shaped metal object as coin. They actually are business medals without any denomination and similarity to currency other than the size. Medals for shopping carts with advertisement on them are actually quite common here.

Bill can easily go to an ALDI grocery store in Phoenix Arizona and put a quarter in the shopping cart release chain mechanism, then get his quarter back when he returns the cart to the cart corral.

That's the whole point Bill, for people to have incentive to return their carts in an orderly fashion, not to make fake coins to get a free cart.

Its a little off topic but I have a 3D printed coin on my keychain for shopping carts, It still forces me to return it after but without the need to always have a $1 coin on hand for the cart.
