Is this a lock part?

Forgot how to dial the combination on that old safe? Think you got the right numbers but the handle is stuck? What safe should you buy? Ask your safe questions here!

Is this a lock part?

I got a vintage in-floor safe lid, in somewhat beat condition, missing the back cover plate. The seller said pictured part went to the lid, was certain about it, but didn't know details.

Open to wild ideas....

I doubt there is space for this part: https://www.ebay.com/itm/116238603157
And it looks to expensive for that door.

Maybe my post wasn't clear. I got the dial lid (lower pics), and that odd part (upper pics).

Seller said the odd part is supposed to go with the dial lid, but I think the seller was wrong. I don't know what the odd part is for.

I have opened & rebuilt a couple of the Major safe lids, this part doesn't go with it

The upper two pictures appear to be the jaw contacts of a high voltage vacuum circuit breaker. How they would be included with a floor safe, beats me.

Besides the rear cover, your safe lid needs a short tube over a rod at the clock position of 4 to 5 O'Clock on your rear safe picture. It pushes the relocker down with the back on, to allow the safe to open.

BillDeserthills and and DeanR,
Thanks for you replies. Yes, I couldn't see how it was related to the safe door, but wanted to make sure it wasn't an obscure lock part, or a short-lived invention that was eventually discarded as locks were developed.

They are of similar size, so someone cleaning out a shop must have figured they were associated.

Thank you,
Joe
