Hi, I discovered this KeepSafe floor safe under my carpet. I called Sentry Safe (makers of Keep Safe) and gave them the serial number and model (S2) but the 3-digit code they gave me doesn't work. I'm thinking the previous owners changed the code. What's the best way to crack the code without having to saw it open? Thanks

We arnt in the habbit of teaching people how to open safes, for what im sure will be obvious reasons. Best advice we can give is to call a safe tech. If the previous owners are available, try having your realtor contact them about the safe.

It is, but we restrict things like safes and bypass techniques to those who have been around long enough for us to get a feel for them. We also don't want to post information like that in the open forums where those searching Google can learn to open things that are more sensitive. Gordon
Just when you finally think you have learned it all, that is when you learn that you don't know anything yet.

I have had trouble with this safe in the past, seems like after the bolts have been extended (locked) for a long time, they are sometimes reluctant to release, even after the proper combo is dialed. It is also rare that a homeowner changes the combo on a safe, especially one like this (cough, cheap junk, cough cough) Anyhow I think you should try dialing the combo again-- are you sure of the proper way of doing that? When the combo has been properly dialed I would take a scrap 2x4 piece of wood & place on the metal lid, and without damaging the dial, give the wood a whack with a hammer--Not a sledgehammer, just a little tapa tapa with a little hammer. If the bolts won't withdraw then perhaps the old owner did have the combo changed, maybe you can get in contact with him-- that's likely the cheapest way, cause if you pay a locksmith to open this-- no way is it worth putting the $$$ into repairing it afterwards--I've had this same model sitting in my shop for almost 27 years NOS

Congrats! Must have been exciting seeing it was full of goodies. Most of the locked safes I've seen opened are empty. Just curious what's the most current date on the bills? Might give some indication on how long it's been locked up.

Not trying to rain on your parade but you may want to get in touch with local authorities about all that jewelry. Not saying that any of it is stolen but on the off chance that it is your best bet would be to cover your butt. Most, if not all jurisdictions have a set period of time where items given to them have to be claimed otherwise they become the property of the finder. Wouldn't want you to end up in trouble for trying to sell stolen goods, now would we?

Thanks. I already deleted the pics from imgur. I'll talk to some CA lawyers I know.
