I don't have a guide to direct which blank to start with for the impressioning.
I've done quit a bit of gun smithing and I'm pretty competent at fitting parts by filing the high points as they are indicated by the impact marks left on dykem layout fluid. I think I should be able to handle impressioning a key if I can obtain the right blank to start.

if the hole is just a rectangle and there is no wards which make a specific keyway shape or profile, then any brass stock that will fit into the lock would work for impressioning purposes. old door hinges are good to chop down to size.
