Forgot how to dial the combination on that old safe? Think you got the right numbers but the handle is stuck? What safe should you buy? Ask your safe questions here!

Thanks a bunch now that you mention it I don’t think the indicator is perfectly straight with the door of the safe

Yes that does look like the lock mechanism but I did just check the dial does seem to be straight up might be off of hair but it would be close. I remember probably 30 years ago when I was a lot younger my mother picked up almost the same safe at a yard sale but smaller don’t know the manufacturer and she has complained about the dial for the last 30 years on how difficult it is sometimes to open maybe it’s just a feeling

Looks like the dial has taken a few good doinks.
Might be good to have a safe tech look at it.
Try dialing the whole combination one number up and then down with the door open and see if the reliability improves.
IE if your combination is 10-20-30 try dialing 9-19-29. Then 11-21-31.
Your dial and ring have taken some good hits and that interupts the alignment between dial and the lock inside.
