Mosler with no Combination

Forgot how to dial the combination on that old safe? Think you got the right numbers but the handle is stuck? What safe should you buy? Ask your safe questions here!

Nice opening!

Lug doors are always in need of maintenance on the mating surfaces.....

Buff down that rust with some fine sand paper/steel wool then put on a light coat of oil.

Congratulations, well done!

Could we have a photo with the inner door cover off so we can see the way the lock is mounted? Those types of photos, especially in color are getting harder to come by. If you can take one with the lock cover off as well, that would be fantastic!

Thank you,
Squelchtone

I will be glad to do that as soon as I can.

BTW, where can I get a key that you use to change the combo? Are those generic or model/serial number specific?

Change keys come in different shapes and sizes and can sometimes be found on ebay. We would have to see the shape of the hole on the back cover of the combination lock case to narrow down which change key will fit.

Looking forward to your photos, thank you,

Simple, but robust and effective.

Lock looks to be in the Mosler KC-1 lineage.

Anyone have the HPC book kicking around that tells which change key to use on this lock?

01091 (two prongs) or 01096 (one prong), whatever that means.

Perhaps these are prongs?

Yes, the tiny drawings look like that key.
