Bought a old safe and have the combination. Supposedly. It's r4-77 L3-56 R2-84
I can't get it to open. Maybe I'm not inputting it correctly? I don't know if I'm supposed to spin past the number 77 3 times land on 56, or when I land on 77 spin past 0 3 times land on 56.
Could someone that knows more than I do please tell me exactly each spin which way to correctly enter the code? Assume I'm a student in class and know nothing about this.
For reference the safe is a Canton art metal company safe. And someone had tried to pry the dial off so it's a little wiggly. But I can feel the disks engaging. It's probably got about a 1/32 inch of wobble.
Also is the number of spins per digit industry standard? Like if it's a 3 number combination will it ever be different number of spins per digit?

Every Art Metal safe I have confronted had only 1 of 3 possible locks and none ever started to the right. How about an intro of yourself in the proper thread.

Well I figured out why you didn't answer any of the questions I asked.
I got it open today, and if memory serves correctly it was
R4-77 L3-84 R2-50
The 50&84 might be swapped but that was the combination. First turns to the right. Not the left.
Thanks for the response though. My name's Mac. Now we're introduced.
