Forgot how to dial the combination on that old safe? Think you got the right numbers but the handle is stuck? What safe should you buy? Ask your safe questions here!

Hi all has anybody pulled apart a Chubb Manifoil lock ? Have a tight 3rd wheel any ideas ? and combination doesn't always work. any ideas how to service the lock would be helpful Thanks
Somewhere are photos of a disassembly. I think they are on keypicking, which is at the moment down.
What do you mean with a tight 3rd wheel? With the 3rd wheel you mean the wheel for the 3rd number in the combination? How are the gates positioned (I assume you have removed the cover), if you dial in the three numbers? Are they in line or is one of? Are they in line on each of some dialling sequences? Does it help to set again the combination?
Hi Thanks for the reply the combination dials up fine , it just when you dial up the combination for the first number to the right 5 times, as soon as you pick up the last wheel there is a lot of drag so it feels tight. I pulled it down cleaned it and used just a smear of light oil only on the spacers between the wheels but didn't make that much difference. cheers
I remember that my Manifoil IV was a lot tighter than other safe locks like a S&G 6730 for example. If this is the case, you're fine. If the third wheel drags and has friction against some other part, it's better to get the lock serviced before it's too late.
