Safe Lock Identification

I wonder if anyone can give me any details about the lock that is in my old J. & J. Taylor safe, including the manufacturer. The cover does not have any information on the inside or outside. It's a small safe that is approximately 2' x 2' x 1 1/2'. Also, would appreciate if anyone knows any details about the safe, such as the approximate age. Thanks!

Key changeable straight tailpiece. Someone will chime in with approx age, etc.

I think it has a lot of similarities with a Hall's straight-tailpiece lock. The Hall's is screw change and not key change, but the case and false gates are extremely similar.

Unless I just haven't been paying attention, I do believe that is the first key change direct entry lock I've seen. I didn't even know they existed. Nice. Thanks for sharing.

The only other time I’ve seen one of these was on eBay 5-6 years ago. The unique round body sticks in my mind.

Sorry I can’t provide any information but I guess it is a rare one.

You see something in 2013, Squelchy finds it 7 years later LOL

It's the first time I see a key change direct entry lock too.

Cheers :)
