Forgot how to dial the combination on that old safe? Think you got the right numbers but the handle is stuck? What safe should you buy? Ask your safe questions here!

I'm not asking "how" but "has it been done?"
I haven't seen it done but supposedly the S&G 8400/8500 makes different sounds depending on whether or not you have the gates aligned and the combination can be figured out that way.
I have a 1947 and by watching how it works I'm curious if someone has done it.
I've seen people on another forum frustrated with the 3332 and figure with an extra wheel and the fence coming in contact only once and in the same spot every rotation that it'd be a tough nut to crack.
Has someone done it?
