General Fireproofing Company AllSteel Safe in need of lock

Hi all,

Brand new here and just brought home a vintage General Fireproofing Company AllSteel safe. It’s in need of some love and the lock mechanism was removed and lost many years ago. In searching this forum and the web in general, I believe the original lock was a Yale OC-5. I’m a total novice to safes, but planning to clean up this old girl. I see many vintage safe locks for sale online. Is there anything specific I should be looking for? The area for the dial face measures 2 1/2”. Thanks in advance for any comments or advice!

Here are photos from Google Drive. The thumb images are not showing for me but the links should work. We removed the doors to transport it. Plan is to strip the current paint, repaint and reassemble. Safe measures 72x43x27 in. Thanks!

Yes, I think these had OC-5s. OC-5s can be found on ebay with a bit of persistence. Make sure the spindle is long enough for your safe.
