[image]I got this major floor safe cut bottom to get to back of door, see photo. It is all gummed up. How to get it apart to get bolts to retract and to get all old grease out?[/image]

Is that a socket sitting on the drive wheel? I believe you have a new style round door with a LaGard lock.

Getting it open is your big step. Well done!

You will have figured it out by now that the bit sitting free in the middle must go on the rod marked here with the red arrow (not clearly seen from above) to the right, to push down the relocker when the base is on. The pins holding the three locking arms shown in green can be pulled out. They are pressed in - I don't believe they can can come out with the back on, but better to have a sure press fit than it being loose.

Once these pins are removed, the main locking arms can be pushed out, and whole lot can be disassembled and cleaned.

The 3 pins holding in the lock bolts are tough. DeanR showed the pins with green arrows in his post. Sometimes you can pull them out with stout pliers, but often you have to use a slide hammer to get them.

The slide hammer is used in auto work as a dent puller, but because the pins are hard to grasp, you can't use a conventional slide hammer. The store bought ones are expensive, so I made my own with threaded rod, vise grips, and some plumbing items. The "cross" of plumbing gear is just to add weight to the hammer. The threaded rods replaces the knurled end bolt in the vise grips. My vintage vise grips used an odd thread size; 7/16-14.

Let me know if you need more info.
