If you are reading this you probably need help buying a good lock, but are not sure what to choose. Although most of this forum is for hobby lock pickers who like to pick locks because they enjoy solving a complicated mechanical puzzle, we occasionally get questions from the public asking for help choosing a lock or for a review of a particular model. We get it, there are many choices out there, so hopefully we can help!
Please post your questions here, please let us know which Country or Region you are from so we can offer local brands and shops, provide as much detail about what you are trying to secure, is the door wood or metal, is the lock going to be outside in a remote area, what is your budget (There are $15 dollar deadbolts and padlocks and there are $200 dollar deadbolts and padlocks)? What is your end goal in buying this lock? peace of mind? protect from repeat burglary, restricted keys so nobody can make a copy? bump proof protection? The more details you provide, the better answer or advice we can provide.
