double profile TT cyl with Yale 8 keyway in 10B

Thinking of upgrading your door security? Getting a better deadbolt or padlock? Getting a new frame or better hinges? Not sure what brand or model to go with for your particular application? Need a recommendation? Feel free to ask for advice here!

I have a customer here in Florida that has a Cisa double cylinder thumbturn profile in bronze finish with a Yale 8 para keyway. Trying to source a replacement. The inside thumbturn works fine, but the outside key just goes round without operating their locks. Brass finish might be an option too. I believe it is @ 80mm length.

I think perhaps ERA also uses that keyway.

Is it en euro cylinder?
If yes, you should measure the length from the screw-hole in the middle.

like here you need to measure lengh a and b. It's usually given in mm-s and the increment is 5 mm-s. Example: A 30/40 lock of this maker and that type. :)
So do you need an exact same model (Cisa with yale 8 para?) as a replacement?
Any euro profile lock can be changed to a thumbturn with a thumbturn kit, but not sure how accessible cisa tumbturn kits are there.

The inside thumbturn works fine, but the outside key just goes round without operating their locks.

I sounds like the cam is broken. (By cam I mean the grey thing at the middle inside the lock. Sometimes it's built in with the tumbturn. Here is a non-tumbtunrn version, they usually look very similar.

See if you can jsut get a replacement cam. But dis and reassembly can be a bit of a hassle if you are not experienced with euro cylinders. I'm sure you will manage, but just so you are careful :)

The most common cause of a Euro spinning is a poorly cut or very worn key - the tip of the key has to operate as plunger in the plug to connect to the cam. Check this first!

If it were poorly cut the problems would have surfaced early on with usage.

I know it isn't the key. Firstly it works the other doors fine, secondly I tried cutting a slightly longer key and that didn't work.

I can find the lock cylinder in the correct size with the Yale para, just not in the correct finish.

:(
Yeah I think bronze finish is extremely rare in eur locks. It's pretty much only brass or nickel, chrome plated at best.
I think you only have good chance if you go very high up on the distribution chain of if someone is willing to order one from the factory
