Just to make sure I'm being perfectly clear here, the North American model can take:
-standard core
-Vitess aka Pfaffenhein (not exactly a high security core, but it does have a very restrictive keyway that makes it hard to fit picks in it); available from Lockitt
-Bilock or Protec2, both excellent high security cores, from SecuritySnobs
There may be other options for the NA model but those are the only ones I know of.

The Euro model takes a Scandi Oval aka Euro Oval cylinder; there are countless core options available there including the ones I listed for the NA model as well as many more. You could go with any of the Assa systems, Dom, Cisa, Wilka, Medeco, etc... Cisa SP would be a good budget core that's very very hard to pick.

Don't know about the NA model taking the Pfaffenhain core. My Pfaffenhain core is a Scandi Oval cylinder.

Peerless and Lacleaf make similiar product for a bit less cash. I believe these two are through hardened and Pewag is case hardened.

This chain and padlock are a bit heavy to lug around. Could you permanently leave it at your destination?

I didnt mean case hardened. Pewag probably chose a shallow hardening steel and is tempering for a tougher core. Slapping against asphalt at speed sounds like a tough application.

As most of these types of OPs who just want a quick answer and probably posted the question on 5 different internet forums, this OP hasnt been on in 5 days, and who knows if they will come back, so don't waste too much time contining to reply to this thread. Everyone is gonna have their own picky specifications for their particular bike, I think we have a few bike lock threads already as well.
