Assa locks need to be keyed

Postby Jbarn33 » 22 Dec 2022 21:16

Hello,
New to the forum here, hoping to get some help.
I have a couple of assa deadbolts and a handful of assa ruko padlocks,
They're all new but they need to be keyed, I have been going crazy trying to find someone
That can key these locks for me. Anybody know someone that can do that or
Any advice as I am dying to put these into service, otherwise they're just glorified paperweights.

Thanks in advance!

Hi there,

To best answer your question, it would help to know where you are located geographically.

If you want to attempt yourself. YouTube, "Assa Ruko2", pins are a little different.

Did you buy them on ebay for a good deal thinking that finding blanks or cut keys in that keyway and some pins to match would be easy? I think we've all been there.

Nope, I got them from a friend and I have all the key blanks for them, just need someone who actually knows how to key them

Those blamks are fun to cut, I believe they are steel. I duplicated some factory cut Assa Twin keys and to the eye they looked perfect, but would not turn when inserted into the lock. Very precise mechanisms for sure. What flavor of Assa do you have? Twin or V10?

Yes they are definitely a very precise lock and key.
I have a bunch of various twins and then I think I may have a couple of v10 kik cores. I ll have to look
