Mechanical key lock for safe

Postby Machinist2 » 7 Jan 2025 10:21

Hello there, I have a Hamilton CL5 safe that I got at auction with the lock removed. The original lock is a S&G 2937 which is about $500. I have been thinking about maybe using a key lock which I know isn't as popular in the US as it is in other area of the world. Maybe I am searching for the wrong thing, but the only lock I can even seem to find that fits my criteria is the La Gard 2270.

Anything else out there? Not opposed to high end, I just can't seem to find anything. Thanks!

You probably already noticed that the Mauer lock is much cheaper, the catch I see is cutting a slot through the spindle hole--the La Gard lock looks like it works without altering the spindle hole...

Thank you all for the replies. Seems theres not much out there. I am just not a fan of combo locks.
