someone is coming in my apartment when i leave they use the door which has a deadbolt and are able to lock it on there way out like noone was here please help they arent using windows because my windows have bars on them and are locked there and i only have 1 door how are they doing this??? what can i do??

Have your landlord immediately rekey the apartment. It may be an old tenant, or someone else who got ahold of a key. Contact the police if you need to.

What manufacturer is the lock and key? Kwikset, Schlage, Medeco, Abloy, Sargent, BEST, Unobtanium, Master, Weiser?

is it a deadbolt or just a knob with a key hole in the knob?

Regardless of a recent rekey of your lock you need to get a rekey. Its your own safety. The person who may be entering may not be looking for objects such anls jewels or tvs. Their intention may be to collect data. Perhapse you have a stalker or participate in anti government protests. Could be after your bank accounts or computer information. If you have a safe they could be looking for the pin. Could be that whoever rekeyed it last time is a little jacked in the head.

Alternative solutions would be to have the lock rekeyed yourself at a reputable service technician.
Purchace new lock with higher security potential
Have the lock examined in forensics to find evidence or bumping or picking.
Install surveillance and motion trackind lights.

But to be perfectly honest GWiens2001 offers the cheapest solution.

One last note. Your landlord may be preforming inspections. Did you sign any agreements to this?

thanks for your replies i don't know what to think iam just a poor person live in a small apartment work part time and get food-stamps also i for got to say before i located a listing device in a certain area i have been searching for it one day after doing a partial search i left for a wile came home and my kitchen counterpart was all sliced up

Please post a photo of the listening device, I'm sure the experts here will want to help identify it. we may be able to figure out which group of people or which government agency uses the model of device you recovered.

i doubt someone in drug gang in here looking for a drug stash lol i live in a good area in rural upstate ny..what i do think is gov looking for drugs here why i dont know.. i think the counter top was slashed because they knew i detected there bug and was searching for it ..you guys are asking for pics i didnt find it but did detect it the day my counter top was slashed how are they getting in and locking it on way out??? any suggestions
