French and Italian Locks

Postby Pipedoc » 24 Aug 2017 16:16

My neighbor is taking a trip to France and Italy in a few weeks and offered to do a little lock shopping for me. I figured it might be a good chance to get a few locks that are a little harder to come by in the States.

I am looking for padlocks in the $20 to $80 range.

Do you guys have any suggestions on a few brands/models that might fit this range?

Thanks!

I've had a hard time finding the French Vachette brand padlocks in the states, but I do think they would fit that price range.
There are also the French Fichet padlocks. Those are super hard to find. But I honestly don't know about the price. They are pretty fancy so they might be above the $80 limit. I just don't know.

Italy has some pretty neat locks but they don't seem to be too hard to get in the states. I've bought a few online and had no trouble getting them shipped here. I think the Viro ones with the cylindrical body are pretty cool. They have a neat design with a secondary pin located at the base of the key:

Now that I think about it, ISEO is Italian, and those are pretty hard to find here. I've seen a few really simple ones but nothing all that interesting. Check out this one here. I don't know the model number though.
