Once an April Fools joke, now a popular addition to the forum, post your handcuff related threads here.

Handcuffsdude says hi

Hi All,

I like hand-cuffs. I have a number of them and anticipate having a large number more in the hopefully not-to-distant future.
I've lurked around LP101 for ages and you'll probably bump into me if you attend any hacker-cons where lockpicking features as i occasionally run training there and generally spend a lot of time at LP booths.

Planning on putting out some notes on hand-cuffs in the hand-cuffs forum so stay tuned :)

Cheers,
HCD

Welcome!

Which handcuffs do you already have? Which ones are you looking to acquire?

Hi GWiens2001,

I've got these:

I'm planning on doing a write up on each of them as i have time as the security varies WILDLY (much to my surprise when this became an interest)

I'm really keen on getting some with actual keys like the ones described here:

viewtopic.php?f=39&t=61567

But haven't been able to find a supplier to Australia. Suggestions greatly appreciated!

I'm in the process of ordering a stack of other misc handcuffs and restraints (leg chains and the like) to play with as well from all over the world.
Found a good supplier in china that can do average quality hinged ones for ~$10 USD per set (postage excluded) :)

Those S&W's are very popular as privately purchased cuffs.

Welcome to the forum!

They're nothing special are far as I can tell unfortunately.
Much better options exist if your considering the difficulty to open as a factor.

HOWEVER. The Smith & Wesson key is near universal among almost -all- handcuffs and thumbcuffs (thai-ones and split-key high security cuffs being the exception).
So if your considering a set, its a compelling reason.
I keep the S&W key on a chain around my neck at all times when i'm playing with cuffs because that way I never can get stuck without a key/being unable to pick.

Cheers!
