update on 'old looking' yuma territorial prison cuffs. the auction ended and someone got stiffed on the poorly faked prison cuffs and paid $71. even the 2 other fake locks brought $66 and $31. i had emailed the manager of the yuma territorial prison museum and he got quite a chuckle. i'm sure they will appear on ebay or craigslist in the future.

These handcuffs are poorly made reproductions of 18th century "darbies." I have seen these kinds of handcuffs and matching leg irons with various labels affixed to them purporting to have come from the Yuma Territorial Prison, Fort Leavenworth, or southern plantations. They are, of course, all fakes. They are not antiques. I am not sure where they are made but rumors are they come from Mexico.

Even though the workmanship is crude, these cuffs do work although not as smoothly as the real ones from Hyatts or other reproductions from makers such as KUB Industries in Pakistan.
