Never used or owned a set before, just looking to play around with them but don't want something decent. Any recommendations for a brand that wont fall apart, but also wont break the bank? I want it to use the standard double locking mechanism/key.

I think most people would say sparrows or southord, if you're from North America. Sparrows tuxedo set is real nice and cheap, but I'd also glance at their EOD set and see which one you'd benefit from the most.

I have purchased several times from Handcuffwarehouse. A good pair of handcuffs are actually not that expensive. Looks like a pair of Smith & Wesson cuffs are on sale right now for about $21. You can have them engraved (what they call 'personalized) for only $3, if you like. Gordon

Hah, I'm on my phone and don't put attention to stuff like that. I was wondering why someone with a post count like yours never bought lock picks.

Please fill out your Country in your profile, we may be able to recommend a shop or online store that will ship to you. Thanks Squelchtone

Randomly looking through forum sections I came across this thread.. I have been looking to get a set of cuffs, but don't know much about them .. IS the S&W 100 the way to go for a decent pair
When I finally leave this world.. Will someone please tell my wife what I have REALLY spent on locks ...

The S&W handcuffs are quite decent, and are used by many police departments. Peerless are also very well made and see heavy use in law enforcement circles. Don't know much about the other brands.

Just hop on eBay and see what you can find, Smith and Wesson are usually pretty good and relatively cheap. The knock off chinese ones are more or less the same, and if you mess up and break something, no great loss
