my collection thus far

When it comes down to it there is nothing better than manual tools for your Lock pick Set, whether they be retail, homebrew, macgyver style. DIY'ers look here.

after being blued

I spent a good while trying to figure outhow to blue steel half decently and finally got there.

I used birchwood perma blue.

I'll post some pics soon.

I recently figured out a perfect way to make picks down to an accuracy of .0001" for all of you who are not machinists there happens to be a machine called an EDM and a wire EDM. I'm lucky enough to have on at work.

Think of a wire EDM as the worlds most acurate computer controlled bandsaw and the blade is .01" wide and can cut in 360 degrees. I have about 9 feet of scrap bandsaw blade and 6 hacksaw blades and just relized how perfect the machine would be for picks. I'll post a report after some attempts.
If you can't make it work try yelling "aww d*****t!" and throwing your tools it never worked for my pops but it entertained me :)

All blued and ready to go, in all honesty they look better through a camera lens.

The bandsaw blade as compared to the hacksaw blade, I'm thinking its best as pocket set stock materials because its less wide, the steel seems much tougher although its nearly the exact same thickness as the hacksaw blade.
