2 circles pick

Postby !*AMP*! » 2 Jul 2006 13:36

I am really new to lockpicking and was wondering what a certain pick was for...I'd take a picture but I don't have a digital camera handy right now...it actually looks like two circles of metal at the end of the pick...kind of like a snowman with only two pieces, know what I mean? Thanks. :o

i am only new too, but from research i have done through the search engine on this, that pick is called a double ball.
Very effective for picking double wafer locks, as i am currently testing out!!!!!!!!
Obviusly one ball is just called a ball pick....

Despite only having two balls, it is commonly referred to as a snowman pick. Not so good on pin tumblers, but it has many great uses on wafers.

Anyone have tips for making these creaturess? - I have tried and tried and usually end up grinding the upper ball off, it does not come out nice for some reason.
- There is no spool -

To undeadspacehippy- I roughed out the shape with a bench grinder, made the cut between the balls with a dremel, and the used a combination of a dremel grinding wheel on slow, and hand files. Worked for me. It certainly isn't perfect, but it works.

after looking around a bit on-line more I saw that it was more of a rake...at least I tested it out as a rake and was successfull...worked pretty well for a fire proof safe I had here in the house that had squared pins.
